Student Activities
Outside of Student Party, clubs and organizations flourish around MIAD. Here are all of MIAD’s ongoing student clubs and organizations. If you have any questions, please email the student contact of each club, or email studentparty@miad.edu for more information.

Student Party
MIAD Student Party is MIAD’s governing body which provides a foundation that enables students to take an active role in their school. There are no formal elections and any student is welcome to join and participate at any time. Student Party assists in planning MIAD Traditions like the Halloween Party, the Talent Show, the blood drives, and the Movie Marathon, among other events and opportunities that may present themselves during the academic year in the MIAD community. Student Party also supports other active MIAD Student Organizations through promoting various meetings, activities, and events happening on campus.

Starting new student organizations
If you are interested in starting an organization that doesn’t currently exist please contact Student Party. Please submit the following in reference to the organization you’d like to create:
- Proposed name of the organization.
- Names of the organizing student(s), including a primary contact person.
- Name(s) of the proposed faculty/staff advisor(s) – if applicable.
- A statement that the organization is open to all and exclusively composed of currently enrolled MIAD students.
- A statement of compliance with and support for all MIAD policies and procedures.
- Purpose and objective of the group.
- Is a meeting space needed?
- What platform will the group use to conduct meetings (in-person, Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc)?

ALPHA LAMBDA DELTA (ALD)
Alpha Lambda Delta (ALD) is MIAD’s National Honor Society for First-Year Academic Success. MIAD’s chapter of ALD celebrates MIAD students’ academic accomplishments, cultivates leadership skills, and offers programming related to ALD’s five pillars: academics, service, scholarships, career development, and belonging.
ASIAN CREATIVE UNION (ACU)
Asian Creative Union (ACU) is a student-led organization whose goal is to promote Asian-American experiences and community across campus. ACU facilitates healthy conversations in the student population interested in learning more about the Asian-American community while providing a supportive environment for creatives from diverse backgrounds.
BLACK LEADERS AND ARTISTS COALITION (BLAC)
The Black Leaders & Artists Coalition (BLAC) aims to provide a comfortable, inviting space for Black MIAD students and allies while creating events that reach out to others and teach about Black culture.
COMIX CLUB
Comix Club is a place to talk about comics, receive feedback on comic work, and learn more about the comics and graphic novel industry.
COMPACT DISC CLUB
Compact Disc Club (CDC) is a club centered around discussion and celebration of all makes of physical music. At every meeting, CDC plays physical records or mixtapes to start conversations and create community surrounding the cultural impacts of music.
CONCEPT ART CLUB
Concept Art Club (CAC) is a club that cultivates an environment for people who are passionate about concept art in all kinds of media. As a club, we provide resources, monthly prompts, and warm-ups to make a seemingly difficult practice of art more engaging. The club meets twice a month to learn the basics of being a concept artist as members navigate through creative issues that a director may give.
COSPLAY CLUB
Cosplay Club welcomes anyone who cosplays or is interested in doing so. We host small cosplay events on the first Friday of every month to hang out and build a supportive cosplay community here at MIAD.
CRU BIBLE STUDY
Created to create. Called to Christ. Cru Bible Study is all about building community while exploring scripture and sharing life together. You don’t need any prior knowledge or a specific religious background to join—just an open heart and a desire to connect with others.
DOLL CLUB
Doll Club is all about sharing and talking about all sorts of dolls! From playline to collector, to nostalgic and fashionista, Doll Club strives to have everything you need to stay in the know and meet other students who share your interests.
DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS
The Dungeons & Dragons Club (D&D Club) is a space for students to express their interest and find community within the tabletop role-playing game (TTRPG) space. D&D Club focuses mainly on getting interested students to play a 5th edition, or “Homebrew,” campaign throughout the year. Outside of that, D&D Club hosts D&D-themed events, such as minifigure painting, character sheet creation nights, and our yearly potion sale, where we sell mocktails in potion bottles to the student body.
FURRIES OF MIAD
Furries of MIAD is a club intended to provide a safe space for students to ask about and explore the furry community. This club is a space not just for furries, but for anyone curious about them and wanting to ask questions. Furries of MIAD hosts fur-themed events, such as Fursona Creation Nights, Fursuit Fashion Shows, Furry Movie Marathons, and more.
GET GROUNDED
Get Grounded aims to create a safe space where students can find their inner peace via spending time outside. School can be stressful, the harsh lights, tiring assignments, and blasting AC can be uncomfortable, spending time outside and getting your heart rate to rise a little can be an effective way to ground yourself. Activities include trail walks, group bike rides, and more!
MIAD MOVIE NITE
MIAD Movie Nite aims to share the experience of watching award-winning movies with the MIAD student body. Movie Nite will screen anything thrown on the table, from Hollywood’s favorite blockbusters to its most niche indie films. Grab some popcorn and enjoy!
SOMOS UNIDOS
Somos Unidos is a club for Latine and Hispanic students to come together, create, and connect with an on-campus community. Somos Unidos leads conversation for those interested in learning about Latine and Hispanic culture and provides an environment of support for students from diverse backgrounds.
TAMAGOTCHI CLUB
Tamagotchi Club is a club for fans of Tamagotchi and other portable pet games. Our purpose is teach others about all the fun you can have with Tamagotchi and celebrate all the ways they come to life.
VISUAL HARMONY A CAPELLA
Visual Harmony A Capella is an amateur a capella group focused on having fun and sharing music. Every meeting starts with fun warm-ups, where we then sing simple songs in SSA or SATB format, or rehearse for performances at various MIAD events. All skill levels are welcome.
